  2. How quaint the dialect is in these beautiful islands; however the written word of the indigenous tribes up here is quite hard to follow in comparison to listening to a tribesman of the area who can at least give appropriate hand gestures to explain what is trying to be communicated.

One must say that while the inhabitants appear to be educated to some level, the tribes that live outside the main settlements of Lerwick and Scalloway are best understood with an interpreter, this said most are friendly and quite civilised, however like the tribes from America and Austrailia they have a weakness for alcohol and I can only deduce that this “blog” was written in a alcohol fuelled haze as it proved difficult to decipher into English

I realise that the initial part of this entry is in reference to washing facilities on the island of Mousa, I can only determine that this must have been installed over the winter as I could not find any such facility last summer when camping, I was disturbed by the next reference to a “nitty” surely the planning department has not agreed to the building of a new knitwear factory and shop on that beautiful island (no doubt funded and run by members of the Shetland Islands Councils “Oil Gift Fund”).

The last paragraph had me totally confused with references to a “bathroom” and “kitchen” !.
One can only hope that all this activity on the island will not disturb the civilised migratory colony of naturalists which has taken over the habitation of the island during the breeding season, during 2010 the Scottish Office has funded in conjunction with the SIC Gift Fund an annual count of the “greater tent dweller”, the “leaky green wellington”, the “lesser binocular”, and the “spotted pac a mac” which will be taking place from May to September, during this period it would be unthinkable if local tribesmen were allowed to disturb these endangered nesting species, by knitting.
